Lisa Loucks-Christenson is an internationally recognized author, photographer, and wildlife artist with over 50 years of experience covering Minnesota—especially Rochester—and more than 30 years documenting Wisconsin's natural history. Her Wisconsin Natural History Collection is a comprehensive body of work and includes:

  • Bald Eagle Research & Documentary (2005–2020): Lisa covered the eagles of Stockholm, Wisconsin (2008-2012), along with several pairs of wild bald eagles in the Whitewater Valley of Minnesota, documenting over a decade of their life cycles, nesting, and behaviors. Her Bald Eagle Documentary was featured as a rotating exhibit at the National Eagle Center, aired on Ron Schara's Minnesota Bound television show, and has been showcased at Peacock Books & Wildlife Art, The National Eagle Center, Silver Lake Books, and Glacier Stops Here (speaking and exhibit). In 2025, Lisa reopened her White Wolf Creek Gallery & Gifts in Stockholm, Wisconsin, where her eagle work and other collections are on display.

  • Signature Exhibits: Lisa's Bald Eagle Documentary permanent exhibit and rotating displays, as well as her Winter Bugs! and Summer Bugs! exhibits, have been shown at the National Eagle Center, Peacock Books & Wildlife Art, Silver Lake Books, and Glacier Stops Here.
  • Winter Bugs! Documentary: The acclaimed documentary and book, capturing the lives of insects and spiders in Minnesota winters, is being republished as a special 20th Anniversary edition this winter.
  • Media & Speaking: Lisa has appeared on Ron Schara's Minnesota Bound for her bald eagle work, spoken to the Audubon Zumbro Valley chapter, and been featured on KTTC News, KAAL, and in the Post-Bulletin.
  • Long-term Minnesota Coverage & Rochester History: Lisa has covered Minnesota and especially Rochester for over 50 years. Her book, Square Eye: A 50+ Year History of Rochester, Minnesota, features interviews, photos, and press coverage chronicling the city's transformation and stories.
  • Minnesota Conservation Corps: Lisa is a former crew member, with a memoir titled Wildlife, Loppers & Chainsaws: 1988 Vegetation Crew: My Wild, Rare, and Untold Adventures Working for the Minnesota Conservation Corps.
  • Environmental & Nature Awareness Book Lines: Lisa is the founder and owner of the personalized book line Story Antics, where she has launched an environmental and nature awareness series. This includes The Adventures of Valentine and Allie: Tending Monarchs (with the next book on bald eagles), and other titles above the Valentine and Allie series.
  • Wisconsin Sketch Book & Lake Monster Series: Lisa is working on Wisconsin Sketch Book: The Great River Road, a book series she started in 2010, as well as a lake monster adventure series for young readers, published by Ghost Cat Adventurers.
  • Art & Cards for Sale: Lisa's art and cards are available for purchase in the store.
  • Educational Outreach: Her collection is featured in educational programs, speaking engagements, and interactive exhibits to foster appreciation for Wisconsin's natural heritage.
